Fuel Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair
Removal Procedure1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
2. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement.
3. Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the two bolts and the fuel tank pressure sensor from the fuel tank.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the fuel tank pressure sensor to the fuel tank.
Important: Install the fuel tank pressure sensor to the fuel tank with the sensor terminals facing the fuel level sensor (gauge) side.
2. Secure the fuel tank pressure sensor with two bolts. Tighten the two fuel tank pressure sensor bolts to 1.2 to 2.0 Nm (11 to 18 lb. in.).
3. Connect the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the fuel tank to the vehicle. Refer to Fuel Tank Replacement.
5. Connect the negative (-) battery cable. Tighten the negative (-) battery cable-to-negative (-) battery terminal retainer to 5.5 Nm (4 lb. ft.).
