Wiper Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Move the steering column to the full out and down position.







2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.







3. Remove the screws and the instrument panel steering column cover.







4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the windshield wiper control module.







5. Remove the windshield wiper control module.
- Remove the windshield wiper control module mounting bracket to instrument panel screw and remove the windshield wiper control module and bracket assembly.

INSTALLATION







1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: When the battery is disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 mi) or more to relearn the strategy.
