V6 3.0L Stripped Engines - Additional Parts Required For Later Specification Front End Accessory Drive
Issue:
This Technical Bulletin has been issued to inform the dealer network that when an engine on early 2003 MY S-TYPE vehicles, within the above VIN range is replaced, the stripped engine supplied by Jaguar Cars Parts Operations will be to a later 2003 MY specification. The later specification engine has a different front end accessory drive (FEAD) arrangement. As a result, the vehicles existing idler pulley and belt cannot be used on the replacement engine.
Action:
When replacing an engine in an early 2003 MY S-TYPE vehicle within the above VIN range, a new FEAD idler pulley (XR8 5238) and FEAD belt (AJ8 5631) will need to be ordered as an addition to the stripped engine (XR8 42725 3.0L).
